…and who are OpenLearners? It’s a question that’s been in my head for quite a while now.
Each week I run the stats which show how many people have visited the site overall, and how many have visited LabSpace and LearningSpace in particular. We report how many people have registered on OpenLearn, and how many people who have visited the site have registered on an OU course in the same session. We keep track on the top ten units, dwell time, page views…

I've just returned from the annual Technology in Education conference in Colorado. The theme this year, TIEvolotion is very appropriate as the emphasis at this conference is changing - just as education slowly changes and leaders begin to understand that technology is just a tool - much like paper, pencil or chalkboard. It is how you use the tool that allows the transformation in education and emphasis to switch from the teaching of technology applications

Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed a few themes that have caught my attention. Now, a few of them are very positive, like the Future of Education that is being hosted by George Siemens over at University of Manitoba. Another is planning, especially for the summer months as many teachers prepare for some time off and away from the school. Now, I would have thought that…

Well, like many teachers and administrators, the end of May and June are times when things get a bit hectic. It seems that each year, no matter how much I plan, I always seem to be crunched for time. So why am I writing this blog if I don’t have much time? Good question.
Since I began on this web2.0 journey in January, I’ve begun to rely on this blog as a place to discuss important ideas, sound off about things that are bugging me and ask for input on ideas that are bumping around insi…

I have been doing a lot of wandering through blogs, wikis, podcasts and vodcasts lately.
